Nearly 200 Marshall County Strings Program elementary and middle school students recently performed at their annual winter concert. During the holiday recital, a special presentation was made to the strings program on behalf of Sound Impact.
Sound Impact is a collective of musicians dedicated to serving communities and igniting positive change in the U.S. and abroad through live performance, educational programs and creative collaborations with other artists and art forms. Juan Jaramillo presented three instruments to the Marshall County Strings Program to be used by students in the program.
Past engagements with Sound Impact include a special performance in May 2016 when Juan Jaramillo was a guest soloist with the Marshall County Strings high school ensemble. He shared about his musical journey growing up as a part of the El Sistema music program in Venezuela, and
the strings program supported Sound Impact that season with their outreach mission to students in Costa Rica the following summer.
