Mr. Varner attended and earned degrees from Ohio Valley University A.A., Glenville State College B.A., West Virginia University M.A., and earned additional graduate hours at the West Virginia College of Graduate Studies.  In addition to his teaching experience, he has served as an Assistant principal of a PK-8 school and Principal of a K-6 school.  Mr. Varner is the Director of Career, Technical, and Adult Programs for Marshall County Schools and has worked in Secondary Education in excess of 20 years.

Mr. Varner has served on various committees both regionally and at the state levels to further develop Career, Technical, and Adult programs.  He also serves on several boards and commissions, which link Career and Technical Education to business/employers.  He has worked tirelessly to provide training opportunities for Marshall County students that in turn link to job opportunities.
