Marshall County Schools has many different adult education classes varying from those who want to get the high school equivalency test those who want to learn about welding, mining, quilting, photography, home repair, computers, and more.  See below for more details.

FREE ADULT EDUCATION CLASSES AND TESTING:
Prepare for the High School Equivalency Test - Upgrade Skills for Employment / ASVAB / College / Tech School

ABE CLASS SCHEDULE:
Starting August 21, 2023

Mondays 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Tuesdays 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Wednesdays 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (Registration w/ID)
Thursdays 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Fridays 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

ABE classes and registration are held in the Historic Moundsville Penitentiary. Enter through North Gate - 8th Street entrance. The ABE classroom is the small blue building behind the chain link fence.

HIGH SCHOOL EQUIVALENCY TEST DATES - Fall 2023:

HiSET computer-based testing is available every Thursday at the Board of Education.

*Before taking the high school equivalency test you are required to first complete classroom attendance hours and pass the Official Practice Test. Pleases contact our office to register for classes or the Readiness Test. All High School Equivalency classes are FREE.

Evening Enrichment Classes w/fees
JOHN MARSHALL HIGH SCHOOL:

WELDING  (Room 122) – 10 Weeks
Tuesdays 5:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Begins Sept. 12th / Tuition $325

Introduction to 3D printing (Room 108) - 5 Weeks
Tuesdays 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.
Begins Sept. 12th / Tuition $40

HOME REPAIR (Room 109) – 6 Weeks
Consists of basic carpentry, electric and plumbing repairs around the house.
Tuesdays 5:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Begins Sept. 12th / Tuition $75

 

Classes are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Class size is limited. No refunds will be given after the first class. Registration is complete only after payment of tuition and/or fees. Payments can be made by cash or check to Marshall County Board of Education. There must be sufficient enrollment in order to have classes.
