Paul Balgavy Jr.

Sue and I stopped in Fredericksburg, VA to for the visit at Paul and Rosemary Balgavy's home on Derby Drive. We had a most pleasant visit and nonstop conversation.  Paul reminded me that we became acquainted as locker partners our freshman year at MHS. So that now has to be 45 years ago. Does that seem possible that so much time has passed when it seems like it was just a "few" years ago.

After 2 years active duty in the Navy, working for a Pharmaceutical Company, Paul has been working for the America Red Cross for 33 years as of September 17, 2004. He now is in the Contracting department in their Washington D.C. National Headquarters. He has about a 2 hour  commute each way by a commuter rail system just a few blocks from his home.
Rosemary is a West Virginian too from Logan County. She has been a public school educator in Virginia since graduation from Concord College. She now teaches English in a local High School and serves her profession as a member of the State Testing monitoring system.  It was good to hear that they are just as confounded with everyone outside of education trying to run education as it was back home.

Paul and Rosemary met on a blind date as elements of synchronicity brought them together for a life together. They have a daughter, Kathryn and a son, Marc. Kathryn is preparing to present them with their first grandchild in just a few months.
The house they had built is in a very fine housing complex. The picture of them and Sue is in front of this Tutor Manor style brick home.   We talked about old times a little but kept referring to the aches and pains of our lives until we joked about the days when we used to talk about cars, dates, etc. instead. Since I knew his parents, I asked about them and he related the sequence of their late years. I tried to tell them some of the joy that our involvement with Donna and the Alumni correspondence has brought to our lives.
