Applying last December for the Governor’s School for the Arts, Cameron High School junior Angelica Starcovic was selected to audition in January for a position in studio art.  She was selected as one of only about 130 students (15 in studio art) to attend the prestigious school.

Held this year at West Virginia Wesleyan College in July, students spent three weeks on campus pursuing their artistic passions under the direction of university professors.  In addition to studio art, participants represented the areas of music (instrumental and voice), theater, dance, drama, creative writing, and digital media.

All costs of the three-week program were covered by the state of West Virginia.
