Cameron High School Career & College Fair Held
The 8th annual Cameron High School College and Career Fair took place Tuesday in the school’s gymnasium.
There were more than 40 vendors at the event including representatives from colleges and universities, the Military, trades and businesses. Several post-secondary institutions were represented such as West Liberty University, West Virginia Northern Community College, Wheeling University and Bethany College.
Students, in ninth through twelfth grade, and community members had the opportunity to learn about the different colleges and career opportunities. They were even able to request information from the college of their choice as well as apply for employment. A few businesses were hiring on the spot.
The Cameron High School College and Career Fair is held once a year and is organized by CHS Counselor Kelly Pettit. This year’s event was the first stop of week 8 activities on the West Virginia Associate of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (WVACRAO) tour in the northern part of West Virginia. The WVACRAO is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to increase access to higher education and other post-secondary opportunities to the students of West Virginia and beyond.
